The sun's rays can have both positive and harmful effects on various aspects of our lives. Although sunlight is essential for life on earth and provides us with vitamin D, it can also do a lot of harm if exposed to it for long periods without adequate protection.

Sunburn:

Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause sunburn, which makes the skin red, sore, and inflamed. Severe sunburn can cause blistering, peeling, and long-term skin damage.

Skin cancer:

Excessive UV radiation is the most common cause of skin cancer. Prolonged exposure to the sun's harmful rays can damage the dna in skin cells and lead to the development of cancer cells.

Premature skin aging:

The sun's UV rays can break down collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, leading to wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. This premature aging effect is common in people who are chronically exposed to the sun.

 Eye damage:

The sun's rays can damage the eyes and lead to conditions such as cataracts (clouding of the lens) and keratitis (corneal burn). Prolonged exposure to UV rays without safety glasses increases the risk of developing these vision problems.

Fading and Property Damage:

Sunlight can discolor and damage various materials, including furniture, fabrics, artwork, and photos. UV exposure can cause color degradation over time and weaken the structural integrity of these items.
