For whatever reason, bollywood is unable to capitalize on Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan's $1 billion worldwide box office success. Akshay Kumar's Selfie was launched this past friday amid high expectations, and the movie industry anticipated that the superstar would turn around the fortunes of B-town with this Malayali version. Regarding the substance, many reviewers and moviegoers thought that "Selfie" lacked the emotional resonance of Prithviraj's Driving License. Because of this, the movie disappointed everyone, including those who had not seen the original.

Akshay Kumar has given 9 flops in a row and he even did a cameo in Ayshumann's movie which also ended as a disaster and now he has been a shameful actor in Bollywood. He always supports bjp openly and now he faces shame. According to the trade, the movie would probably bring in close to 2.5+ crores nett on opening day, which would be a poor start for Akshay Kumar. According to the reviews and word of mouth, the movie doesn't appear to be going very far.

The SRK starrer Pathaan, which is currently in its fourth week, received a nett of 1.1+ crores on the same friday, demonstrating that it is a very huge thing. In a manner, Selfie also joined the group of films like Shehzada that have brutally bit Bollywood. Remakes are currently failing, but in march 2023, we need to see original movies succeed, like Ranbir Kapoor's Tu Jhooti Main Makkar. Yet, there are huge expectations for "Bholaa," the khaidi version starring ajay Devgan.
