Due to these nations' support for pakistan following Operation Sindoor, the hashtag #BoycottTurkeyAzerbaijan began to trend on indian X. Following India's execution of Operation Sindoor in pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied kashmir, which targeted terrorists, turkey and azerbaijan on Wednesday, May 7, released statements expressing their support for Pakistan.

Furthermore, Turkish Airlines' affiliation with pakistan, which has adopted a "hostile" stance towards india, has led indian tourism company Go Homestays to declare the termination of its collaboration with the airline.  Additionally, goa Villas, an aggregator of villa rentals, said that it will not provide lodging to Turkish nationals.
 
In a post on X, Go Homestays announced, "We are officially ending our partnership with Turkish airlines due to their unsupportive stance towards India... jai Hind."

Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was initiated by the indian Armed Forces on May 7 between 1.05 and 1.30 in the morning.  Women officers Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing commander Vyomika Singh, and Foreign Secretary vikram Misri briefed the nation on Operation Sindoor, stating that india used its right to respond by hitting nine terror targets in pakistan and Pakistan-occupied kashmir (PoK), including terror camps and launchpads. They said that India's activities were responsible, proportionate, non-escalatory, and measured.

In a May 8 news release, the indian Defense Ministry stated that while india is dedicated to non-escalation, it will not hesitate to respond appropriately to Pakistan.  On the evening of May 07–08, 2025, "Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in northern and western india," according to the press statement.  The cities of Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj were among the civilian places in the region that Pakistani forces targeted with drones and missiles. india retaliated.
