Mahanati Savitri had fallen in love with his costar Gemini Ganeshan, during the filing of a Tamil film titled ‘Manam Pola Mangalyam’. Gemini Ganesan and Savitri made a hit pair on-screen with all their film making the cinema halls to put up houseful boards. This couple had a secret marriage in the year 1956.
Afterward their marriage was revealed accidently, when Savithri gave her photo for the Lux soap advertisement, she signed it as ‘Savithri Ganesh’ at the backside of the photograph. This marriage news was declared publicly three years after the wedding. This couple were blessed with two children Vijaya Chamundeswari and Sathish.
