tamil Star karthi made a strong comeback with khaidi last year but immediately encountered a failure with Donga. He is coming back as Sulthan on april 2nd.. The first look teaser of the film got released the other day and it looks impressive.
Going by the trailer, Sulthan seems to be an action-packed mass entertainer set in a small town. The locations look rustic and the casting is superb. There is a good buildup with the Mahabharatam voiceover at the start but the story is not revealed. Karthi's styling looks perfect and the last shot in which karthi is seen cracking the whip and the punch at the end are good.
Rashmika is good as village belle while yogi babu will be taking care of the comedy. The music by vivek Mervin sounds good. Written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the Sulthan teaser is promising. Let us see if karthi can manage to bag a hit this Summer. The movie will have a simultaneous release in telugu and tamil on april 2nd. Unless, there is a change, the movie is likely to have competition from Gopichand's Seetimaar which releases that day in Tollywood.
