Brijbhushan sharan Singh has got a big relief in the case of harassment of women wrestlers. He has got bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000. While granting bail, the court put a condition that BrijBhushan will not go out of the country without informing, will not influence the witnesses.According to the news agency, during the hearing, the public prosecutor on behalf of the delhi police told the court that the accused should be tried according to the law and some conditions should be imposed on the relief.
What arguments were given in the court?
When the court asked the lawyer whether he was opposing the bail plea, he said, "I am neither opposing nor supporting." He told the court, "The application should be disposed of in accordance with the law and the order passed by the supreme Court."
The counsel appearing on behalf of the wrestlers opposed the application saying that the accused is very influential. He told the court, “Bail should not be granted. If this is allowed, then strict conditions should be imposed. Witnesses have been contacted from time to time, however there is no threat."The counsel for the accused told the court that he would comply with all the conditions. The defense counsel told the court, “There will be no threats etc. The law is very clear. He should be granted bail, I am pledging to abide by the conditions."
Police action - police has filed a charge sheet of 1599 pages in this case. In which the case against accused BrijBhushan sharan Singh and WFI Secretary Vinod Tomar is mentioned. There are a total of 44 witnesses in this charge sheet. Statements of a total of 108 people have been recorded in the charge sheet. In which 15 people have given statements in support of the aggrieved wrestlers.
