Anurag Kashyap's Controversial Remark

The statement that started it all — "Brahmin pe main mootoonga... koi problem?" — has been widely condemned as insulting caste-based prejudice by numerous social media users.  The comment went viral, and people started demanding that the filmmaker answer for what he said.

In a tweet, advocate Ashutosh J. Dubey announced the legal action, saying, “I have officially submitted a complaint to @MumbaiPolice seeking registration of an FIR against @anuragkashyap72 for his derogatory and casteist remark against the Brahmin community.”

In a direct appeal to maharashtra Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, he further added, "As a member of the Brahmin community, I am deeply offended by this derogatory and hateful comment made by Anurag Kashyap. Such a statement is not only casteist but also incites hatred and violates the principles of dignity and equality protected under our Constitution. I request @MumbaiPolice to take immediate cognizance of this caste-hate speech and register an FIR under relevant sections of the BNS."

According to the pictures of the complaint that Dubey posted, the complainant tried to use Sections 194 (1), 195, and 356 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to make a formal complaint against Anurag Kashyap.

The mumbai Police have not yet spoken publicly or confirmed the registration of an FIR, and anurag kashyap has not made a public remark in response to the accusations.
