Regarding this event, Sonu was accused of comparing the language conflict of kannada and kannada people with terrorism and the incident in Pahalgam. In such a situation, an FIR has been registered against sonu nigam under sections related to promoting enmity between groups, defamation and hurting religious or linguistic sentiments.

Demand for apology from Sonu Nigam

A complaint was filed against sonu nigam by prominent kannada group karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV). kannada activists have demanded sonu nigam to apologize in front of everyone for his statement. KRV has also said that until Sonu apologizes, they will not let him perform in the state. After the case was registered, sonu nigam has also given clarification.

'They were not demanding, they were threatening'- Sonu Nigam

sonu nigam has shared a video on his Instagram. In this, he says- 'The four-five people who were shouting were like goons. Many other people tried to stop them. It was necessary to remind them that during the pahalgam attack, people were not asked about their language. kannada people are very sweet people. It was necessary to remind those four-five people that you cannot allow people to threaten you. You cannot let people sow the seeds of hatred on the land of love. They were not demanding, they were threatening.'
