A dispute has erupted over the ownership of late actress Sridevi's chennai farmhouse. Filmmaker and Sridevi's husband, boney kapoor, has approached the madras high court regarding this. Boney Kapoor has said that three people are illegally claiming his chennai farmhouse.
According to boney kapoor, this property, located on east Coast Road in chennai, was bought by the late actress sridevi in 1988. The filmmaker said that since then, his family has been using it as a farmhouse. This farmhouse has also been available for rent to people on Airbnb.
Who are the three claimants of the farmhouse
According to the report of The Hindu, boney Kapoor said that Sridevi had bought this property from M.C. Sambanda Mudaliar on April 19, 1988. Mudaliar had three sons and two daughters, and in february 1960, the family had decided to divide this property among them. Under this, sridevi had bought it. But now the second wife and two sons of one of Mudaliar's sons are claiming their rights on it.
Boney Kapoor made this appeal to the court
Boney Kapoor has claimed in the petition that Mudliar's son's second wife is illegal. According to boney, Mudliar's son got married for the second time on 5 February 1975, while his first wife died on 24 June 1999. boney kapoor has also raised questions about giving legal ownership certificates to these three claimants. Claiming fraud, he has appealed to the court to cancel these certificates.
Hearing boney Kapoor's petition, Justice N. anand venkatesh has directed the tambaram Taluka Tehsildar to decide within four weeks.
