Two Accused Remanded to Judicial Custody


 Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta, two band members of late singer Zubeen Garg, have been remanded to judicial custody after their 14-day police remand ended.


Background of Arrest:


 Both accused were arrested on october 3 following extensive questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore.


Total Arrests:


 Since october 1, a total of seven individuals have been arrested by the SIT, all of whom remain in judicial custody.


Incident Details:


 Zubeen Garg died on september 19 while allegedly scuba diving in Singapore.


Singapore police Statement:


 The singapore police Force (SPF) stated that the investigation could take up to three more months.


Next Steps After Investigation:


 Upon completion, SPF will submit their findings to the State Coroner of Singapore.


Role of the State Coroner:


 The State Coroner will decide whether to conduct a coroner's inquest (CI), a judicial fact-finding process to determine the cause and circumstances of death.
