1. Vijayashanti blames governor for Tamil Nadu suspense :  Actor-turned-politician Vijayashanti has found fault with Tamil Nadu governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao for the continuing suspense over the chief minister's post in Tamil Nadu.
2.  Tirumala Gosala hit by zoonotic disease :  The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is faced with the daunting task of quarantining cows suffering from the highly contagious zoonotic disease, Brucellosis.
3.  Fake medico held for conning cops :    Police on Saturday arrested a pseudo special medical officer, who has been threatening government officials, including police, by obstructing them from discharging their duties by introducing himself as an officer at the CM's Camp Office.

7.  Hyderabad High Court: Set up panel on professor extension :  The Hyderabad High Court has directed the Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) to constitute an expert committee within 8 weeks to consider the cases of petitioners who retired after Jan 1, 2009, as professors to extend the benefit of higher academic grade pay (AGP) of 12, 000.
8.  Single entrance test for engineering to help colleges fill vacancies :  Engineering collegesin the city welcomed the Centre's move to have one single entrance test for engineering from academic year 2018-19 on the lines of the national eligibility and entrance test for medical colleges. 
9.  Milk units busted for adulteration :  In an crackdown on the food adulteration, the south zone police on Saturday raided two milk adulteration units in Saidabad and Madannapet and apprehended two persons .
10.  Criminal cases against ACP, two sub-inspectors for meddling in civil dispute :  A criminal case was lodged against former LB Nagar assistant commissioner of police (Crime) Ramulu Naik and two sub-inspectors for their involvement in a civil dispute. 


Andhra Pradesh
1.  NTPC commissions desalination plant :  NTPC Director (Technical) A.K. Jha on Saturday inaugurated a flue gas-based desalination plant built at a cost of Rs. 8.5 crore on the premises of the Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station at Deepanjalinagar Township.

3.  Council poll notification to be issued tomorrow :  The Election Commission will issue notification for election to fill five seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and one in the Telangana Legislative Council on February 13. The election will be held on March 9, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the model code of conduct came into force on February 6 in nine districts in Andhra Pradesh and eight districts in Telangana.

7.  Man arrested, 605 grams of gold jewellery recovered :  The city police on Saturday arrested Kosaraju Narasimha Rao (42) on charge of burglary.
8.  4,800 cases settled in Lok Adalats in Prakasam :  Prakasam district created a record of sorts in the State by settling 4,880 cases during the Lok Adalats held in various courts across the district on a single day on Saturday.
9.  SC, ST Sub-Plan funds being diverted, alleges Sailajanath :  The Telugu Desam government is diverting the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Sub-Plan funds to such a great extent that it is hard not to consider it ‘anti-dalit’, alleged PCC vice-president and former Minister S. Sailajanath.
