📍 What Is the Advisory About?

• With the AI Impact Summit 2026 underway in New delhi from February 16 to 20, the Delhi Police has issued an extensive traffic advisory for the capital to manage vehicular movement and security during the high-profile event.

• The summit is being held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, and is expected to draw Heads of State, international delegates, tech leaders and business representatives.

🚦 Key Road Restrictions & Routes to Avoid

The delhi Police advisory warns of traffic disruptions, diversions and regulated movement on major central routes used for summit and VIP movements. Commuters have been advised to plan travel in advance and avoid these stretches if possible:

Routes expected to see restrictions/slow movement:

Mathura Road (Subramania Bharti Marg to Lodhi Road Flyover)

Subramania Bharti Marg

Akbar Road, Sardar patel Marg, Janpath

Firoz Shah Road, Shanti Path, satya Marg

Africa Avenue, Outer Circle (Connaught Place)

Ring Road stretches, Kartavya Path, Bhairon Marg (restricted during VIP convoys)

During periods of VIP movement, general traffic entry will be regulated or prohibited on several central arteries to ensure security and smooth transit of delegations.

🚇 Suggested Travel Options & Alternate Routes

Public transport recommended:
delhi Metro services will remain operational throughout and are suggested as the easiest way to move across the city.

Alternate routes for travellers:

Airport (IGI): Via Ring Road → Dhaula Kuan → NH-48 instead of central districts.

Railway stations: Suggested corridors bypassing key summit zones, such as Ring Road and Ashram Chowk routes.

Parking and access:
• Private vehicles are encouraged to park only in designated zones, and shuttle services may be provided from large parking hubs like delhi Zoo, National Stadium, etc., to summit venues.

🧑‍🎓 Special Measures for students & Exams

The traffic advisory also coincides with the start of CBSE board exams (Feb 17).
delhi Police has coordinated with the education Department to ensure that students carrying admit cards receive facilitation to reach exam centres on time.
Nodal officers have been deployed near affected routes and school zones to assist students and staff.
