In New Smyrna beach, Florida, there was yet another instance of an Indian-American driver who was intoxicated while operating a vehicle carelessly and nearly injured bystanders. The 26-year-old woman, who has been identified as Sarah Ramasammy, crashed into the sea, just missing the neighbouring residents. The Orlando woman's blood alcohol level was approximately two times the legal limit, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. 

A sheriff's helicopter overhead captured the scene where people gathered around the car in the water during the event at Smyrna Dunes Park. Her blood alcohol content was 0.153, which is double the.08 legal limit in Florida. Ramasammy was accused of driving while intoxicated and recklessly. She was also issued a ticket for disobeying a traffic signal. She was eventually checked into the Volusia County Branch prison. Ramasammy, however, was released after paying $1500 in bail. 

She almost missed a child and dog at the dog-friendly park at the beach while travelling at 50 mph, according to witnesses. Ramasammy, however, asserted that nothing similar occurred.
