Y S Vijayamma, mother of andhra pradesh chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy, will attend the party plenary on July 8 and 9, the ysr congress party stated on Wednesday, putting an end to all rumours and concerns. After checking the plenary arrangements in the guntur district, senior party leader and MLC Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu provided clarification.

Vijayamma will attend the plenary as the honorary president of the YSRC. There is no need for debate or conjecture," the speaker declared. The party is anticipated to accept an amendment to the party constitution that would eliminate the position of honorary president, hence there is speculation that Vijayamma may resign from the position after attending the plenary.

Party insiders claim that a resolution would be passed modifying the party constitution to name jagan Mohan reddy as the YSRC's only and permanent president. No honorary positions are required, and the party president would not be chosen at each plenary. Five years have passed since the last YSRC plenary. The YSRC plenary was last conducted in July 2017, some months before jagan left on his padayatra. Vijayamma attended the plenary as the party's honorary president, and it was a huge success.
