31 kilogrammes of Alprazolam were found in a makeshift laboratory in the nagarkurnool area that was producing the drug, which is classified as a psychoactive narcotic under the NDPS Act. In response to specific intelligence, DRI authorities conducted a raid on the facility, which was hidden away in a poultry farm surrounded by farms on the outskirts of Vattem hamlet in Bijinepally mandal.

In the course of the operation, 31.42 kg of completed alprazolam—whose estimated street value is Rs. 3.14 crores—as well as raw materials, machinery, and other manufacturing-related equipment were seized. Further investigation is being conducted after the arrest of the person involved in the production of alprazolam.
