On Monday, chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao took part in the Green india Challenge (GIC) programme and planted a tree in honour of World Environment Day. Along with other party activists, the chief minister was joined by senior BRS party leader and rajya sabha member K Keshav Rao, education minister P Sabitha indra Reddy, and J Santosh Kumar.

Santosh Kumar, who is championing the Green india Challenge programme, thanked the chief minister on the social networking site Twitter. For #WorldEnvironmentDay, the mentor volunteered to perform the honours.
