As part of the preparations for the Legislative assembly elections that will take place later this year, a delegation from the election commission (EC) met with the chief secretary of telangana here on Saturday. According to a notification from the state's chief electoral officer's office, telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari met with the ec representatives and assured them of all the logistical assistance needed to carry out the polls without incident.

Senior Deputy election Commissioners (DECs) dharmendra Sharma and Nitesh Kumar Vyas headed a delegation of senior ec officials on a three-day tour, which ended today. The release stated that the ec team met with state bureaucrats, senior officials of enforcement agencies, including Income Tax (CBDT), Excise Department, State GST, CGST, Enforcement Directorate, State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), DRI, CISF, and the state Commercial Tax department during the visit in an effort to reduce the use of money power in elections.

Additionally, the ec team had an important meeting with district Collectors and CPs/SPs from each of Telangana's 33 districts to discuss election preparation. Officers from the election commission met with Telangana's Chief Electoral Officer, Vikas Raj, and senior police officials on thursday to discuss preparations for the Legislative assembly elections later this year.
