In Madhya Pradesh, congress leader and former cm Kamal Nath has reacted on the issue of one country one
election. He has said that this is not possible immediately. During the press conference in Neemuch, Kamal
Nath said, 'This is not an easy task, it is not possible at all. It will have to be passed by the entire assembly. In
which bjp ruled states will do it but it will not be easy in other states. By the way, if everything is together in
the country, then it is also good.
Government's argument
As soon as this decision was known, many bjp leaders have called it the right decision to be taken for the
better future of the country. On the other hand, the Centre's argument for moving forward in this direction is
that the Law Commission has said in the report that due to repeated elections in the country, there is excessive
wastage of money and resources of the exchequer. It is not possible to hold simultaneous elections within the
existing framework of the constitution, so we have suggested some necessary constitutional amendments. At
the same time, the commission has ensured that there is a need for a radical amendment in the constitution,
which should be discussed.
What is One Nation, One Election?
Let us tell you that during this special session, there is a possibility of presenting bills on the issues of one
country one election, uniform civil code and women's reservation. Parliamentary Affairs minister Prahlad
Joshi said about the special session, there is a hope of meaningful discussion and debate in the Parliament
amid Amrit Kaal." It has been considered several times in the past also to bring this law. It has also been
studied by the Law Commission. Let us tell you that earlier in the country in 1951-1952, 1957, 1962 and
1967, there was one law in the lok sabha and all the Assemblies. Simultaneous elections were held.
