The central government has announced to call a special session of parliament from 18th september to 23rd
September. Opposition leaders have criticized this step of the government, terming it as dictatorship.
Responding to this, Union Parliamentary minister Prahlad Joshi has quipped. He said, We have only called
the parliament session, why are they so afraid?
Prahlad Joshi said that the special session of parliament has been brought to discuss some important issues.
He said, We will share the agenda of the parliament session with everyone in the next 2-3 days.When asked
that the opposition is attacking the government regarding the sudden calling of a special session and one
country, one election. In response to this, Joshi said, 'Even if that bill comes, it will be discussed in the House.
Why is he so scared about this? They should not be afraid.
We are not going to implement from tomorrow itself'
In the next question asked on the issue of 'One Country, One Election, he said, if the bill comes, it will be
discussed in the house and it is not that we are going to implement that bill from tomorrow itself. He further
said, If democracy also develops in a developing country then what is the harm in it, simultaneous elections
were held in 1960-67. Simultaneous elections make the country strong.
