On Tuesday, the congress demanded that prime minister Narendra Modi apologize for once more "insulting" Telangana. rahul gandhi, a member of congress, wrote on X in telugu that Modi's remarks belittling Telangana's martyrs and their sacrifices are an affront to Telangana's existence and self-respect. He used the hashtag PM should apologize to telangana when he submitted his response.

Following rahul gandhi, the telangana branch of the party also requested an apology from Modi. The statement read, "The manner in which prime minister Narendra Modi has been disparaging the creation of the telangana state for the past ten years is clearly evident once again in his most recent remarks about the state's formation yesterday in the Parliament." It claimed that sonia gandhi, the party's then-leader, overcame all obstacles to establish the state by putting aside political considerations and "treating the children of telangana as her own children." It said that Modi's distaste towards telangana has only grown over the past ten years.

Revanth Reddy, the head of the state congress, criticized Modi's remarks as disrespectful of Telangana's sacrifices and fighting spirit. He asserted that rahul gandhi provided a rebuttal to Modi's comments because, as the leader of the party that created telangana, he is familiar with the region's pulse. The prime minister stated during his monday speech in the parliament that the split of andhra pradesh to become telangana had caused animosity and bloodshed.

He claimed that the division of andhra pradesh was carried out arbitrarily, in contrast to the carefully planned creation of Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and chhattisgarh during the atal bihari vajpayee administration from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, respectively. "When those three states were created, there were celebrations on both sides, but the splitting of andhra pradesh only resulted in animosity and violence in both states. No one on either side was happy, he had stated.
