A high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya amid the rising incidence of dengue fever across the country. The prevalence of dengue fever has been increasing in many states of india in the last two months. Due to dengue fever, more than 600 people have died in the last two years. The number of dengue victims has crossed four lakh. The rising incidence of dengue fever across the country is a cause for concern. In this context, a high-level meeting was held today under the chairmanship of health and Family Welfare minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to review the dengue situation in the country and the preparedness of the public health system for prevention, control and management of dengue. At that time, the Union health minister was briefed about the nationwide dengue situation. Pointing out the challenge posed by the increasing number of dengue cases in the country, minister Manchuk Mandaviya noted the importance of preparing against dengue. He advised the authorities to strengthen the management measures and prepare fully for dengue prevention.


Dr. Mandavia highlighted that the central government has provided all necessary assistance to the states for diagnostic equipment. health workers are also trained. He emphasized that the states should adhere to the guidelines issued by the central government for the prevention and control of dengue.


The Union health minister also said that adequate funds are being provided by the central government to the States under the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Dengue.


As far as tamil Nadu is concerned, 1000 special camps will be held on october 1 as viral fever including dengue is increasing.
