The search for AV Velu, who is the minister of two important departments namely Public Works Department and Highways Department, is being conducted in the places owned by him. Can you believe that Eva Velu, who is today a minister of two important departments and an mla from 2001 till date, was once a bus conductor? Eva Velu was born on march 15, 1951 in Kudalur village in Thandarampatu circle of Tiruvannamalai district. He initially worked as a pumpset motor checker and later worked as a conductor in the famous Damodaran bus Service in the area.

Eva Velu, a member of Naidu's community, started her political career in the AIADMK, despite being close to artist karunanidhi during his lifetime and then to chief minister Stalin. Eva Velu, a fan of MGR, joined the AIADMK in 1972. As soon as possible due to his work, he came to the mind of P.U.Shanmugam, who was the then leading leader of AIADMK and got an opportunity to contest from Thandarampatu constituency in the 1984 elections. AV Velu, who won that election, joined Janaki's team after MGR's death. However, when jayalalithaa led the party, he left AIADMK.

Later, when actor bhagyaraj started the party, he became its policy secretary. Later, as the party disappeared, he tried to join Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK. But, it didn't work out. After that, he joined the DMK and it has been an upswing since then. He defeated the AIADMK in the elections held in 2001 and 200 from Thandarambatu constituency. He then shifted to Tiruvannamalai constituency and contested consecutive elections in 2011, 2016 and 2021, registering a hat-trick of victories.

AV Velu, who was the Food minister in the DMK regime from 2006-2011 led by the late artist karunanidhi, has been assigned an important public works department in the current chief minister Stalin's regime. In this way, the officials of the Income Tax Department have been conducting raids since morning in the places owned by AV Velu, who is one of the leading leaders of the DMK.
