Earlier on wednesday (November 1), prime minister narendra modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina had

jointly inaugurated two railway projects and one power supply project between india and bangladesh through

video conferencing. When addressing during this, PM Modi said, Our business has tripled in the last 9 years. Today

the inauguration of Akhaura-Agartala rail link is a historic moment. This is the first rail link between Bangladesh

and the north-eastern states of India. Tripura has had strong relations with bangladesh since the days of the

liberation war. I am happy that we have inaugurated the second unit of Maitri Thermal Power Project.

The amount of work that was done in 9 years was not done in many decades

He further said, It is a matter of great pleasure that we have once again come together to celebrate the success of

India-Bangladesh. Our relations are touching new heights. The amount of work that has been done in nine years

is more than that. This did not happen in decades. Land Boundary Agreement and Maritime Agreement were

signed between the two countries. Special emphasis was given to fulfill the aspirations of both the countries.

Three new bus services were started. Three rail services were also started in the last nine years. Gone.

Sheikh Hasina said to PM Modi – Thank you


After PM Modi's address, his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina also addressed and expressed her gratitude

to PM Modi. Expressing gratitude for India's continued support, Hasina said, I express my gratitude for your

(PM Modi's) commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship between our two countries.

These projects have been inaugurated

Among the three projects jointly inaugurated by PM narendra modi and Sheikh Hasina, india has given a loan

of $ 1.6 billion for the Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant of Bangladesh. Located at Rampal in Khulna division,

1320 MW electricity will be produced under this project. This project has been completed by India's NTPC

Limited and bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).
