In the 2023 assembly elections in Rajasthan, rebel and independent candidates have spoiled the equation between

bjp and congress party. Dissatisfied with the distribution of tickets, the candidates who contested as rebels either

as independents or by taking tickets from any other party are also getting public support. BJP's rebel woman

candidate from Bayana assembly seat in Bharatpur district has made both the major parties sweat.

Ritu Banawat, the independent candidate from Bayana assembly seat, is a bjp rebel. Ritu Banawat had contested

the 2018 assembly elections on a bjp ticket, but lost the election by about 5000 votes. This time, Bharatiya Janata

party has fielded former mla Bachchu Banshiwal from here instead of giving ticket to Ritu Ganesh. Ritu

Banawat, upset over not getting the ticket, is contesting the elections as an independent candidate this time and

her husband Rishi Bansal has also resigned from the post of bjp district president.

gurjar dominated seat is serious

Ritu Banawat had contested the elections as an independent candidate in 2013 and on bjp ticket in 2018, but lost

both the elections by just five thousand votes. Ritu says that in the 2018 assembly elections, there was a wave of

Sachin Pilot, due to which she lost the election, but this time the gurjar community is with her. Bayana assembly

seat of Bharatpur district is reserved for Scheduled Caste. Bayana assembly seat is a gurjar dominated seat. Only

gurjar voters decide the victory or defeat on this seat.

In the 2018 elections, congress got the votes of gurjar community because of Sachin Pilot. This time the Gurjar

community says that last time they defeated Ritu by voting for congress because of Sachin Pilot, but Sachin Pilot

was not made the CM. Therefore, this time the gurjar community is not with congress, bjp but with independent

candidate Ritu Banawat.
