bjp MLC Gopichand Padalkar has written a letter to deputy cm devendra fadnavis demanding action

against insensitive government officials who are not handling the issue of Dhangar community properly.

Padalkar has also requested fadnavis to withdraw the cases against Dhangar people for participating in the

protests. Padalkar had demanded inclusion of Dhangar community in st category. He had given a list of

demands and 50 days time to the state government to include the Dhangar community in the st category. But

the government did not act on the demand, hence protests were held in different parts of the state.

Padalkar made this demand in the letter

The cases against 36 Dhangar Bahujan community members in the Dhangar reservation petition case in Jalna

should be quashed and action should be taken against the Inspector General of police and the collector who

are destabilizing the conducive environment by not handling the matter sensitively.

There was violence in Jalna

About a week ago today, a morcha organized by the Dhangar community in Jalna had turned violent as some

protesters vandalized the district Collectorate premises, pelted stones and damaged official and private

vehicles. The police had detained many people in this connection. The incident took place when the Dhangar

community had marched to the district collectorate demanding reservation for the community under the ST

category. On this entire matter, bjp MLC Gopichand Padalkar had said, He had to wait for an hour. The

collector did not come out and meet him. This enraged them which resulted in violence.
