Pongal prize of Rs.1000: CM's announcement! It has been revealed that minister Udayanidhi Stalin
is behind the pongal gift of Rs.1000 for all ration cards.
On the occasion of pongal festival, the tamil Nadu government has announced that all rice family card holders in tamil Nadu
will be given one kg of sweet rice, one kg of sugar, whole sugarcane and Rs.1,000 cash each.
While token distribution for pongal gift set started on 7th, chief minister stalin today launched the pongal gift set
distribution program at the fair price shop in DDK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai. The pongal collection will be offered from today to january 13.
As far as tamil Nadu is concerned, pongal gift package scheme, cash donation scheme and free Vetti saree scheme are in operation to benefit
all rice family card holders.
After the DMK government took charge, the tamil Nadu government gave a gift package containing 21 items on the occasion of
Pongal festival in 2022. But the cash was not given. When there was dissatisfaction in this regard, in the last year 2023,
Rs. 1000 cash was given along with the necessary tamarind, sugar and whole sugarcane for Pongal. It was well received by the public.
While the public was expecting Rs.1000 cash as pongal gift for all ration cards, the restriction on it caused dissatisfaction.
