Pongal Celebration- Special Trains
Lakhs of people have made plans to travel to celebrate pongal in their hometown. Due to the fact that all the trains at this station are overbooked, additional coaches have been requested to be added. Following this, the salem Division Railway has informed that additional coaches will be added to the trains in view of the extra rush of passengers during pongal festival. Accordingly,
Additional coaches in 10 trains
1. train No.12084 coimbatore - mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Express from 14.01.2024 to 17.01.2024 will be increased by one chaircar (sitting facility).
2. train No.12083 mayiladuthurai - coimbatore Jan Satapti Express will be increased by one chair car (sitting facility) upto 14.01.2024 & 17.01.2024.
3. train No.22650 Erode - chennai Central Yercaud Express 16.01.2024 & 18.01.2024 one reservation box will be increased.
4. train No.22649 chennai Central - Erode Yercaud Express 17.01.2024 & 19.01.2024 one reservation box will be increased.
5. train No.16616 coimbatore - Mannargudi Classic Express on january 13, 15 & 17, 2024 will be increased by one reservation box.
Southern Railway informs that additional coaches will be added to the trains on the occasion of pongal festival KAK
6. train No.16615 Mannargudi – coimbatore Classic Express on january 13, 15 & 17, 2024, one reservation box will be increased.
7. train No.22668 coimbatore - Nagercoil Express on january 12, 14 & 16, 2024 will be increased by one reservation box.
8. train No.22667 Nagercoil – coimbatore Express on january 13, 15 & 17, 2024, one reservation box will be increased.
9. train No.12243 chennai Central - coimbatore Shatabdi Express 13.01.2024 One Chaircar (sitting facility) coach will be increased.
10. train No.12244 coimbatore - chennai Central Shatabdi Express 13.01.2024 One Cooler One Chair car (Seating Facility) coach will be increased.As special trains will be run for the pongal festival celebration, it has been announced on behalf of Southern Railway that additional coaches will be added to 10 trains for the convenience of the public.
