36 congress leaders have applied to contest elections from four lok sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh. Of these, maximum applications have come from shimla parliamentary constituency. The congress party has received 16 applications from shimla, 13 from kangra, five from hamirpur and only two from Mandi. Each applicant has also paid a fee of Rs 10,000 each to Himachal congress as per the rules.

Katoch, Nageshwar Mankotia have applied, while from Mandi parliamentary constituency Gyanchand Thakur of Joginder nagar and Vijendra Negi of Kinnaur district have sought tickets.

Maximum applications from shimla parliamentary constituency

Even from hamirpur parliamentary constituency, which is considered the stronghold of Bharatiya Janata Party, congress has received only five applications. These include Lieutenant Colonel D.S. Thakur (retired), Jogendra Singh, Sabruddin, Ramchandra, and Captain Atul Sharma (retired) have applied.
