Monday (21 April) is the last day for nomination for MCD Mayor and Deputy Mayor election in Delhi. Mayor election is to be held on 25 april in delhi, so on the last day of nomination, aam aadmi party and bjp will announce their candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Candidates will file their nomination between 10 am to 5 pm with Municipal Corporation Secretary in Civic Center. Actually, aam aadmi party is in power in delhi Municipal Corporation for the last three years. In the first year, aam aadmi party made its Mayor Shaili Oberoi and Deputy Mayor ali Mohammad Iqbal, after this, in the second year also, these people held the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor. In the third year, due to the seat being reserved, Mahesh Kumar Khinchi is currently the Mayor on this seat, who is also from Aam Aadmi Party.

It was a difficult year for AAP

However, this year can be a bit difficult for aam aadmi party in MCD because after the defeat of aam aadmi party in delhi in the assembly elections this time, aam aadmi party government has lost power and the number of councillors in MCD has also reduced considerably compared to BJP.

bjp in opposition for 3 years

If we talk about bjp, then for the last three years bjp was in opposition in MCD but this time bjp seems to have an upper hand in MCD elections. There are two main reasons for this, one is that bjp councillors are more in number and the second reason is that apart from councillors, MLAs and MPs also vote for the mayor election, according to which the number of bjp MLAs and MPs is also more in Delhi.

Whose number is what?

The number of numbers in MCD elections is very interesting and this figure will lead one party to victory and bring it to power in MCD. At present, aam aadmi party has 113 councillors, bjp has 117 and congress has 8 councillors. Apart from this, MLAs and MPs also vote, according to which if we look at the figures, aam aadmi party has 3 MLAs and 3 MPs for votes. bjp has 11 MLAs and 7 MPs.
