Hearing on Waqf law postponed in supreme Court. On this, AIMIM spokesperson Waris Pathan said that the matter was kept for hearing in the supreme court today (5 May). The court had earlier said that we will hear five petitions. One of these petitions was also from our party president Asaduddin Owaisi.

'Our peaceful protest will continue'

Waris Pathan said that the Chief Justice believed that both sides have to be heard and he wants that this matter should be placed before the new Chief Justice. Hearing on this will be held on 15 May. He said that the All india Muslim Personal Law Board says that our peaceful protest will continue until the Modi government withdraws the Waqf law.

'We want the government to withdraw it'

The AIMIM spokesperson said, "Our party stands in support of the All india Muslim Personal Law Board. We will continue our peaceful protest. All the amendments are unconstitutional. It is a violation of Article 14, Article 15, 24, 24, 26 and 29. This is a completely black law. We want the government to withdraw it. But till then we will continue our protest."

'The entire Muslim community of the country is standing on one side'

Waris Pathan further said, "Last time we asked people to wear black bands and all of them did. A light-gul campaign was launched recently against the black Waqf law. believe me, everyone across the country switched off their lights (house lights) from 9 pm to 9.15 pm. The entire Muslim community of the country is on one side and why does the government want to impose this law. Now let's see what the new Chief Justice hears on the 15th. We will continue our peaceful protest till Bakrid."
