The election commission has introduced assembly through-polls for five constituencies across 4 states.

Those constituencies consist of Kadi and Visavadar in Gujarat, Nilambur in Kerala, ludhiana West in Punjab, and Kaliganj in West Bengal.

The election fee also shared the motive behind the by-elections for those seats.

With the announcement, the version code of behavior has come into effect in all 5 constituencies.

The voting for all 5 assembly seats is scheduled for june 19. The counting of votes could be hung on june 23.

For these by-polls, it has been determined to apply wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital voting machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trails (VVPATs) in all polling stations.

Ok numbers of EVMs and VVPATs have been made available to ensure a smooth electoral procedure.

Here’s a breakdown of the seats:

  1. Gujarat:

    • One seat was up for election, following the resignation of the incumbent MLA.

  2. Kerala:

    • One seat was contested, following a vacancy created by the resignation or death of the sitting MLA.

  3. Punjab:

    • One seat was up for grabs due to the resignation of the MLA.

  4. West Bengal:

    • Two assembly seats were contested, due to vacancies created by resignations or other factors.

These by-elections were closely watched as they involved major political parties like the BJP, Congress, Left parties, and the TMC, among others.
