Delhi News: Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta said that the government is looking for a permanent solution to the problem of stray dogs. The chief minister further said that the help of the people will also be taken in solving this problem.

Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta said on wednesday (May 28) that the government is looking for a permanent solution to the problem of stray dogs. The chief minister was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of development works in Pitampura of her Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. An elderly woman raised the issue of stray dogs at the event.


Along with people, mute animals are also involved

Rekha Gupta said, "I am working on solving the problems caused by stray dogs. Along with people, mute animals are also involved in this problem." She said that the delhi government is creating a platform to bring together the residents as well as those who take care of these animals.


The Chief Minister said that there is a law, stray dogs cannot be kept in shelters or displaced from the streets where they live. The chief minister said, "The government is looking for a long-term solution in which neither people nor animals are inconveniencedThis will be a policy matter which is being worked on."


Find a permanent solution for the rehabilitation of stray dogs - High Court

The delhi high court has asked Delhi government officials to formulate a policy for the rehabilitation of stray dogs at the institutional level so that they can be 'phased outfrom public roads and streets.


The High Court said that it is the responsibility of the government to find a permanent solution for the rehabilitation of stray dogs in delhi so that they can be gradually removed from public places. Stray dogs living on the streets not only cause trouble for people but also become victims of road accidents many times.
