maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) chief raj Thackeray has once again played the Marathi language card. He has written a letter to Dada Bhuse, school education minister in the devendra fadnavis government, saying that if hindi is made compulsory in schools, then his party will protest.
Sharing the letter on the social media platform X, he said, "For the last 2 months, the government has been creating a lot of ruckus in maharashtra regarding teaching hindi language from the first class. Initially it was announced that three languages will be taught to the students from the first class and hindi language will be the third compulsory language. Against which maharashtra navnirman sena raised its voice and due to which public sentiment was created. That public sentiment was so strong that the government announced that hindi language will not be made compulsory for the third language.''
Why is hindi being made compulsory?- raj Thackeray
raj Thackeray said, ''Basically hindi is not a national language, it is a language like the languages of other provinces of the country. Why is it being made compulsory to learn it? I don't know why the government is bowing to any pressure. But basically the issue is why should children be taught three languages from the first grade itself. Then, in that regard, you have announced that only two languages will be taught from the first grade in schools with the curriculum of maharashtra State education Board. But why has the written ordinance of this announcement not come yet?''
The government will be responsible for the movement- raj Thackeray
My soldiers of maharashtra know that based on the decision to teach the previous three languages and include hindi in it, printing of books in hindi has started. Now that the books have been printed, is the government not planning to do something like this again against its own decision? I believe that nothing like this will happen, but if something like this happens then the government will be responsible for the agitation launched by maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
