uddhav Thackeray-led shiv sena (UBT) and raj Thackeray's maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) suffered a major setback on tuesday (June 17) in Nashik district of Maharashtra. Many senior leaders and officials of both the parties left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. This development has come to light at a time when speculations of a possible union of uddhav and Raj thackeray are rife.

In fact, on tuesday, senior former mla of shiv sena (UBT) Babanrao Gholap and former deputy leader of Nashik sudhakar Badgujar joined the BJP. Apart from this, former Nashik Mayor ashok Murtadak, considered close to MNS chief Raj thackeray, also joined the BJP.

uddhav thackeray had expelled him from the party

Let us tell you that in the first week of June, Badgujar had met chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. Expressing displeasure over this, uddhav thackeray expelled him from shiv sena (UBT) two days later on charges of 'anti-party activities'. However, local bjp mla Seema Hire has opposed Badgujar's inclusion in bjp, citing a serious criminal case against him.

That's why he left the party

At the same time, Babanrao Gholap cited the 'disrespectful behavior' happening in UBT as the reason for leaving the party. ashok Murtadak said that he has decided to join bjp for the development of Nashik, especially keeping in mind the Nashik Kumbh to be held in 2027.

Entry of UBT leaders in Shinde faction too

Meanwhile, shiv sena led by deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde has also given a blow to the uddhav faction. On tuesday, some former corporators of shiv sena (UBT) from Nashik have joined the Shinde faction. All these leaders joined the Shinde faction in the morning, which made it clear that the wave of change has started in Nashik politics.
