Devotees are prohibited from visiting sabarimala Ayyappa Temple!!!

The Devaswom Board has announced that the first ban on going to the temple will be imposed today(Nov.20) for the safety of devotees coming to Sabarimala. Devotees have been barred from visiting the sabarimala Iyappan temple from today due to flooding in the Pamba River. sabarimala Iyappan temple in the state of kerala does Magaravilakku and mandalapoojas during the months of Karthika and Margazhi. Devotees from various states including kerala, tamil Nadu, and andhra pradesh usually wear Maalai and they start fasting for 48 days to attend the poojas and pay homage to Ayyappa. With the onset of the month of Karthika, the number of devotees visiting the sabarimala Ayyappan temple has increased again.


Meanwhile, the pathanamthitta district where the sabarimala Iyappan temple is located has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past few days. Because of this, the dams were overflowing. A red alert has been issued in the Pamba area due to heavy rainfall. The Devaswom Board has said that devotees will be allowed on the basis of pre-registration when the water level in the Pamba River drains. pathanamthitta District collector Divya has announced that devotees will be barred from visiting the sabarimala Iyappan temple from today due to the floods in the Pamba River.
