Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly's brother Snehasish Ganguly and his wife Arpita narrowly escaped a major accident. Their speedboat capsized in the sea on Sunday. This accident happened during water sports activity on puri 'beach'. A video of this is also going viral, in which it is seen that the speedboat is overturned in the sea, while the lifeguards are trying to save all the tourists. The officials used rubber floats to save them. During this, everyone including Arpita was very scared.
Sourav Ganguly's brother's wife Arpita alleged that the boat was light due to low capacity of passengers, and due to this it overturned. She said, "The current in the sea was already very strong. The boat had the capacity to seat 10 people, but due to greed for money, they were seating only 3 or 4 people. This was the last boat to go to the sea that day. Some problems had already come up, so I asked that if this has happened then we should not go, but they said no, nothing will happen, due to greed for money. Sir had also refused but they took us."
The waves were as high as 10 floors
Arpita further said, "As soon as we went inside, I had never seen such high waves in my life. The waves were as high as 10 floors. Because that boat was not heavy, if there were 10 people in it, then perhaps it would not have overturned due to balance. But it overturned and the whole boat came on top of us. I was the last one and could not even get out. The diesel had completely spilled." "We would not have survived if these guards had not saved us. Around 15-20 people came, one of them lifeguards came holding my leg. I am still in shock." While saying this, Arpita started crying, she told that she could not even sleep after this.
