Tamil Nadu, which is ranked 3rd nationally in water management, was given the National Water Award on behalf of the Central Ministry of Water Resources. The award was received by sandeep Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary, government of tamil Nadu Water Resources. Apart from these, tamil Nadu has won National Water Awards in many other categories.

In this connection, the government of tamil Nadu has issued a press release: The National Water Award is given annually on behalf of the Central Ministry of Water Resources. The best performing teams in the field of water management are scrutinized by a special panel of the department state wise and 3 awards are given to the best performing state and the best corporation, municipality, panchayat, schools, private companies, industries and charities are given awards.


In this regard, President of india Ramnath Govind and Union minister for Water Resources gajendra singh shekhawat selected and gave the prizes to the states that excelled in water management last year at the Vigyan Bhavan in New delhi today (March 29). Uttar Pradesh took top place, followed by Rajasthan, tamil Nadu in second place, and tamil Nadu in third place.
