Age-related diseases caused the veteran actress jamuna to pass away. It was 86 years old. She is survived by her daughter Sravanthi and son Vamsee Juluri. jamuna was born in Karnataka's Hampi. Jana Bai was the woman's given name. Nipping Srinivasa Rao and Kowsalya Devi were her parents. Jamuna's parents wed outside of their own castes, which was uncommon at the time. Jamuna's mother was from the Vaisya community, albeit her father was a Brahmin.

Jamuna began her career as a stage performer while still in school. With the assistance of her mother, she studied vocal music and the harmonium. In 1952, after seeing her performance on stage in Maa Bhoomi, Dr. Garikipati raja Rao gave her the chance to appear in his movie Puttillu. jamuna went on to perform in more than 200 south indian language films, including telugu, Tamil, and others. jamuna performed in hindi films as well. She received the Filmfare honour for her Best Supporting Actress performance in Milan (1967). This is Mooga Manasulu's hindi adaptation (1964).

In 1965, jamuna married Juluri ramana Rao, a professor of biology at sv University. Two kids were born to the couple. On november 10, 2014, her husband, who was 86, passed away from a cardiac attack. Numerous leaders and members of the telugu cinema industry have expressed their sorrow at Jamuna's passing.
