Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed in november 2021 that she will collaborate with Philip John, the director of Downton Abbey, on an Indo-British project. The english film is a movie version of Timeri N Murari's best-selling 2004 novel, The Arrangements of Love. The coming-of-age rom-com, however, will now star shruti haasan and Viveik Kalra.
Chennai Story is a romantic comedy set between wales and India. shruti will portray Anu, a lively private investigator. Philip, a BAFTA winner, wrote and directed the film, which also has Nimmi Harasgama as co-writer. The majority of the film will be in english, with a small amount of tamil and Welsh. It will go into the concepts of self-expression and acceptance.


Shruti expresses her excitement at joining the film, which is produced by Sunitha Tati of Guru Films. "As a chennai native, this narrative highlighting the city's variety and distinctiveness is particularly meaningful to me," she adds, adding, "I look forward to working with Phil. Making cinema is all about telling deeply rooted tales through worldwide cooperation. The british Film Institute's UK Global Screen Fund also supports the film.

The Arrangements of love follows the narrative of a bisexual tamil lady who operates a detective business. A Welsh-Indian guy is on a search for his estranged father. shruti will play the detective who assists him, while Viveik will portray the man searching for his father. samantha auditioned for the role of Anu, but because the actor is now on leave, it appears that the producers have opted to move on without her.
