The government effort to provide discounts to motorists who settle their pending challans will stop on Tuesday. So far, 15,479,798 people have collectively paid '200 crore. Beginning on december 26, the government offered reductions ranging from 40% to 90% for settling pending automobile challans. The reductions vary by vehicle type, with two- and three-wheelers receiving an 80% discount, push carts receiving a 90% discount, and heavier trucks receiving up to 60% off. These reductions apply to infractions committed before november 30.

Narsing Rao, a traffic sub-inspector, told india Herald that more than 10 lakh motorists failed to pay their challans. "We are urging those with dues to promptly clear their challans through the e-challan website," stated the official.

Hyderabad traffic police sponsored a month-long campaign giving reductions of up to 75% on pending challans, made possible via merchant applications' quick payment mechanisms. The amount received through the telangana e-challan service on paytm platforms exceeded Rs 60 crore, according to a paytm spokeswoman. The city's traffic police agency enlisted paytm to handle a large rise in e-challan payments. This came after hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. anand started a month-long campaign providing up to 75% off pending challans.
