STR 48 (working title) is silambarasan TR's big-budget project for Kamal Haasan's production company Raaj Kamal Films international (RKFI). The film was formally announced in march 2023, with filmmaker Desingh Periyasamy at the helm. RKFI stated today that the first look of STR 48 would be released on february 2, 2024 [Friday]. It is also believed that actress pooja hegde has joined the film's cast as the female protagonist, with devi sri prasad serving as the soundtrack composer.

STR 48, with the slogan 'Blood and Battle', is touted as silambarasan TR's first Rs. 100 crore film. Desingh Periyasamy's directorial debut was Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020), a rom-com; STR 48, on the other hand, is described as a period picture starring silambarasan TR in multiple parts. Interestingly, Desingh Periyasamy had initially scripted this high-budget period picture for 'Superstar' Rajinikanth.

So, now it's obvious that pooja hegde will not feature in the web series which will be helmed by ajay Gnanamuthu as touted earlier. pooja hegde has walked out of a Big telugu project as well as she wants to focus on STR48 for now and the movie features some intense action scenes too.
