
Meerut: people of a particular community going to the mosque for friday prayers were stopped, there was a lot of ruckus, police handled the matter
In Meerut's Partapur police station area, two hundred and fifty people of a particular community going to offer friday prayers were stopped by the villagers outside the village. There was a ruckus over this. The police reached the spot and pacified the matter.
There was a ruckus before friday prayers in Kanchanpur Ghopla village of Partapur police station area of Meerut. Here dozens of people of a particular community going for namaz were stopped outside the village by the villagers and asked to go back. During this, there was a lot of ruckus in the village. The villagers alleged that for every friday prayers, two hundred and fifty to 300 people come to the village mosque to offer namaz. While returning, they do hooliganism and stunts. The police reached the spot and pacified the people creating a ruckus by explaining to them. At the same time, a complaint has been given to the police by the villagers.
People of a particular community working for L&T, the company under construction for Rapid Rail, delhi Road, and nearby shops go to the mosque in Kanchanpur Ghopla village to offer friday prayers. On friday, dozens of youths of a particular community going to offer prayers were stopped by the villagers.
When the villagers asked the Namazis to go back, the youths said they wanted to offer prayers in the mosque. During this, a ruckus broke out after an argument between the two sides. On receiving the information, the police arrived and pacified both sides. The villagers told the police that more than 300 Namazis come to offer prayers in the village mosque. While returning, they block the road and some of these youths create a ruckus with stunts. Last friday, a youth from the village was hit by the bike of a youth going after offering prayers.
On the other hand, Imamuddin, who reached the village to offer prayers, said that there was no mosque nearby. They go to the mosque in Ghopla village for prayers. The worshippers return after offering prayers with civility. Inspector dilip Singh Bisht said that a complaint had been filed by the villagers. Action will be taken after the investigation.
