The telugu cinema industry has been stirred by a recent press release from the office of andhra pradesh Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan. The note sarcastically thanked tollywood for the alleged return gift before outlining the government's future strategy for the sector. Producers and industry executives have been having heated conversations about this.

Pawan was disappointed that no film industry official had attempted to meet with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu formally even after the coalition government had been in power for a year.  "This lack of basic courtesy is a serious issue," he said.

He said that producers and directors would no longer be allowed to meet one-on-one to discuss matters such as movie releases or ticket prices.  Official associations are now required for all communications.  No more one-on-one meetings for favors, whether personal or business.

The report also emphasized the industry's lack of response to critical issues such tax contributions, theater revenue, basic facility deficiencies, multiplex operational flaws, and the persistent misunderstanding surrounding ticket prices.  All of these issues will soon be the subject of reviews and in-depth reports.  Additionally, Pawan brought attention to the industry's domination of particular groups, which greatly alarmed some insiders.

Many people think that the recent discussions about a theater closure on june 1st and the issues surrounding the release of hari Hara Veera Mallu are related to this change in tone.  Sources close to Pawan indicate that he might not be so willing to compromise, even if the industry rushes to meet with the chief minister or Deputy chief minister right now.

In the next days, the true significance of this news release will become more apparent.
