The harsh reality, which many in the industry are reluctant to acknowledge, is that Housefull 5's music hasn't had any significant influence.  Songs like Laal Pari have at best gotten a mediocre reception, despite obvious funded advertising attempting to boost the enthusiasm.  Good?  Indeed.  Superhit?  Not at all.  With a staggering budget of 375 crores, recovery appears to be an impossible goal. The movie must make more than 400 crores in order for the producers to break even in India's theaters after taking into consideration OTT, satellite, and soundtrack rights.

With the amount of chatter going on right now, that number seems improbable.  Industry insiders have excellent cause to be wary.  Even worse, since the outbreak, producer Sajid Nadiadwala's reputation has suffered greatly.  According to reports, a series of well-known failures, including Bachchhan Paandey and Heropanti 2, as well as his most recent catastrophe Sikandar with salman khan, resulted in large financial losses.

Industry rumors indicate that Sajid has become extremely cautious, or perhaps cash-strapped, particularly when it comes to marketing. That would account for Housefull 5's almost nonexistent marketing efforts in spite of its all-star cast.  Right now, all eyes are on the trailer, which will be released tomorrow, May 27.  It has been approved with a UA 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The duration of the trailer is a substantial 3 minutes and 56 seconds.  All 19 of the main stars, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, and others, are reportedly going to be present at the lavish launch party.  The film's comedic element, which is reportedly its strongest suit, is anticipated to be highlighted in the teaser.  With just ten days till release, though, the remarkably tardy marketing campaign is posing significant concerns.  Sajid "knows what he's doing," according to some people involved in the production.

However, the actual situation on the ground presents a different picture.  No comedy, regardless of the size of the cast, can ensure success in the current market without buzz.  It's quite high stakes.  Additionally, the trailer's release tomorrow may be the last opportunity for this 375-crore risk to pay out.  Housefull 5 may be facing one of Bollywood's most costly flops if it fails.
