India retaliated against terrorist hideouts in pakistan on 7 May 2025 under Operation Sindoor. It was a surgical and digital precision based operation, in which coordination of the indian air Force, army and Intelligence Department was seen. During this operation, the indian air Force destroyed the hideouts of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed located in pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Apart from this, Pakistan's air defense system was destroyed. During Operation Sindoor, india broke the back of pakistan by using long range missile attacks.
In the four-day conflict, india used modern and multi-layered weapon systems, including Rafale fighter jets. In this, six SCALP subsonic cruise missiles were used to destroy Jaish's bunkers. Electronic jamming and low-radar profiling helped in evading enemy air defenses.
S400 shot down Pakistani fighter jets
During this, the Russian-made S-400 air defense system shot down Pakistani fighter jets. YIHA drones and CM-400 missiles coming to the border were destroyed mid-air. india used 19 Brahmos cruise missiles during the entire operation. With its help, Pakistani airbases like Sargodha, Jacobabad, and Noor Khan were targeted.
Pakistan could not stand in front of Brahmos and S-400
Pakistan mainly used technology obtained from china and turkey in this conflict. It used the Chinese PL-15 air-to-air missile (range 180 km), which did not show any significant effect, while also used the HQ-9 radar and missile system, which is a Made in China version of the S-300. Pakistan's Chinese weapons could not stand in front of Rafale and Brahmos.
Not a single missile of pakistan could target India's military bases. S-400 and akash Tir shot them down before they could hit their target. Pakistan used a total of 4 fire units of HQ-9 in Karachi and Malir Cantonment, which was double the number india had estimated. Despite this, Indian electronic warfare unit disabled their communication system.
