It's a well-known idea that doesn't really introduce anything novel. The Strangers: Chapter 1 made a healthy $48 million worldwide on a tiny budget of $8.5 million, despite making numerous lists of the worst movies of the year when it came out in theaters last May. This means we will get at least one more film, whether we like it or not! Lionsgate has released the first trailer and a new poster for The Strangers - Chapter 2, a home invasion slasher sequel that will be released on september 26.
Maya (Madelaine Petsch), the miserable final girl, wakes up in a hospital bed next to her (very) dead boyfriend after barely surviving the terrifying events of the previous film, only to realize that the nightmare is far from finished.

According to the official synopsis, "The Strangers are back, and they're more vicious and unrelenting than ever.  They go back to complete what they started after finding out that Maya (Madelaine Petsch), one of their victims, is still alive.  Maya must endure yet another terrifying chapter of dread as The Strangers, motivated by an inexplicable, unrelenting goal, hunt her down and are more than willing to kill anybody who gets in their way. She has nowhere to flee and no one to trust.
