Kuberaa is a film directed by Shekhar Kammula with dhanush as the hero. The film had a huge star cast including rashmika mandanna, nagarjuna, and Sunaina along with Dhanush. devi sri prasad composed the music for the film. The film was produced by Sri Venkateswara Productions. Kubera, made on a budget of around Rs 120 crore, was released on june 20 in tamil, telugu, hindi, malayalam and Kannada. The film starred actor dhanush as a beggar. This is actor Dhanush's 51st film. Kuberaa received mixed reviews in tamil Nadu since its release. However, the film received a great response in the telugu states. Since Shekhar Kammula is one of the leading directors in telugu and nagarjuna is acting in the film, it received a unanimous response in andhra pradesh and Telangana. Similarly, the film is also doing well in Karnataka. Apart from these two languages, Kubera has been a total flop in other languages.
The result of the film Kuberaa is a shock for director Sekar Kammula himself. Because he had hoped that the film would be well-received in Tamil. But the result of the film turned out to be the opposite. In an interview given after the release of the film, he said that he had designed many aspects of the film keeping in mind the feelings of the tamil people and since dhanush was playing the lead role in the film, I expected it to connect strongly with the tamil people. But Sekar Kammula has spoken out, feeling that this decision was not expected at all.
Kuberaa is actor Dhanush's 5th 100-crore film. Currently, the film has collected Rs.123 crore worldwide in 10 days. Of this, the film, which has collected only 20 crores in tamil, has collected Rs.60 crores in telugu alone. Apart from this, it has collected Rs.10 crores in Karnataka. Furthermore, Kuberaa, which has collected just 2 crores in hindi and 1 crore in malayalam, has collected Rs.30 crores abroad. As for the 10th-day collection, despite sunday being a holiday, the film has collected just Rs. 32 lakhs in tamil Nadu. At the same time, it has collected up to Rs. 5 crore in telugu and has shown mass. The film Kuberaa was released in tamil Nadu by rahul on behalf of Romeo Pictures. It is said that the film Kubera will suffer losses of up to Rs. 15 crores in tamil Nadu.
