Veteran indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara officially announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on Sunday, august 24. The right-handed batsman took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share this heartfelt news with his fans.


Pujara was a key figure in India’s Test batting lineup, known for his resilience and technique. His last appearance for the national team was in the 2023 World Test championship final. Over his illustrious career, he amassed 7,195 runs in 176 innings, boasting an impressive average of 43.60, which includes 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries. Notably, Pujara played only five One Day Internationals (ODIs) throughout his career.


In his announcement, Pujara expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support he received from fans throughout his journey. He reflected on the profound significance of wearing the indian jersey and the honor of representing the nation.
