NSE scam: Parliamentary committee may interrogate SEBI chairman, lok sabha secretariat issued a notice

The parliamentary committee may question SEBI chairman Madhabi puri Buch regarding the NSE scam. The lok sabha secretariat has issued a notice asking him to appear before the panel on Tuesday.
SEBI chairperson Madhabi puri Buch will appear before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance on tuesday on regulatory issues related to capital markets. According to information received from sources on Sunday, during that time Madhabi puri Buch can also be questioned about the recent NSE scam.He also appeared before the panel on march 30. The lok sabha secretariat has also issued a notice regarding this. According to this notice, this parliamentary committee, headed by the former minister of state for finance jayant sinha, has called Madhabi Buch to consider regulatory issues related to the initial public offering, international financial services centers, and alternative investment funds.Committee sources said the members of the standing committee would also question the SEBI chairman about the recent National Stock Exchange (NSE) scam. In fact, many of its top officials including former CEO Chitra ramakrishna and ravi Narayan are being investigated for this scam.
Former minister of State for Finance jayant sinha said that Buch has been called by a parliamentary committee to deliberate on the recent volatility and orderly functioning of the cash market. At the same time, sources said that the committee will question the SEBI chairman on the recent scam in the NSE.

The members of this parliamentary committee include former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former finance minister of bihar Sushil Modi, and several lawyers-cum-politicians. Recently this panel was awarded for being the best Parliamentary Committee.
