Actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away today in a Bengaluru hospital reportedly experiencing a cardiac arrest, shocking and grieving fans as well as colleagues. Puneeth Rajkumar was hospitalised around 11.30 a.m. on Friday, according to Dr ranganath Nayak of vikram Hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, he reported chest discomfort and was unresponsive.

Puneeth began his career at the age of 5 as a child actor in films besides his father, renowned matinee idol Dr Rajkumar, under the screen name Lohith. He then went on to study business before returning to his first love, acting. Puneeth's film debut, Appu, a collegiate action love tale, was a box office smash, and he came as a true star. He then went on to have a string of hits that kept him on top.

Despite his status as a leading actor, he is an actor who lacks the vanity and arrogance that comes with being a hero. He was a good-natured actor who supported 26 orphanages, 16 old-age homes, 1800 girls' education, and many other charities, as well as donating the revenue from songs he sang for a number of service programmes to a charity named after his father and for education. His eyes have also been donated.
